Bulk Tobacco Review #2 -Sutliff Creme Brulee

Sutliff Tobacco is one of the largest pipe tobacco blenders in the game these days. They offer a staggering assortment of choices in both the aromatic and non aromatic fields. Being an aromatic fan, I recently ordered a few samplers of various Sutliff bulk blends from Pipes and Cigars to try out. This one has ended up being one I will definitely put into rotation.

Pipe-  I tried this in both my Missouri Meerschaum Cherry Hardwood and Mr Brog number 21

Sellers Notes-Creme "Brulee is one of Sutliff's most popular aromatics, and trying it just once will show you why. This easy-smoking blend of Virginia, Burley and black Cavendish is accented by the addition of a creamy vanilla, rich caramel and sweet honey-based top note."

Tin/Pouch Note- You most definitely get the smell of a creamy vanilla off of this with just a hint of caramel and perhaps nougat. The smell made my mouth water for some dessert.

Smoke- From the moment you light this up, the flavor hits your palate with a strong warm French vanilla flavor. The tobacco stays lit well with very little need for tamping after the initial light. The flavor lasts the entire bowl and this blend smokes very slowly. It did not smoke wet, which is always nice with aromatics, and the blend gave me no bite or burn.

Room Note- AMAZING. You really do smell an aroma so convincing that you swear someone is in the kitchen baking some delicious treats. One of the most pronounced room notes I have experienced.

Final Analysis- I will certainly be buying this again. It is a great buy at 3 bucks an ounce and is a blend you can smoke pretty much all day if you wanted to. But you may end up going out for treats as it does make you very hungry for some sugary goodness. On a scale of 1 to 10 this is a solid 8 to 9.

Happy Smoking!!!
